A nine-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district was sexually assaulted and murdered by her 13-year-old brother after watching porn on a mobile phone, the police said. After the incident, the teen's mother and sisters, aged 17 and 18, helped in the cover-up, an official of the Madhya Pradesh Police said.
The police detained the victim's brother, their mother, and sisters after interrogation of 50 people, intense questioning of the accused persons, and based on technical evidence. On April 24, the Madhya Pradesh Police received information that the body of a girl was lying in the courtyard of a house in the state's Rewa district. Evidence relating to rape and murder was found in the post-mortem report following which a probe was launched.
According to the police, after the intense interrogation of the family members, it came to light that the victim's 13-year-old brother had slept beside her at night. It was found that the teenage boy sexually assaulted her after watching obscene videos on the mobile phone.
When the minor girl threatened to tell this to their father, the boy strangled her and later woke up his mother and confided in his mother. She then found that the victim was still alive. On seeing that, the accused again strangled her, the police found in its probe.
The probe also revealed that the accused's two elder sisters also woke up after the incident and changed the spot of their bed before informing the police to mislead the probe. But, during interrogation, they confessed to their crime.
