Vandalism in Howrah over controversial painting during Durga Puja; 30 arrested
A man in Kanpur has made disturbing allegations against the local police, claiming that his teenage daughter was subjected to a strip-search at a city police station. He further alleges that explicit photos of her were taken in front of the 22-year-old man who had allegedly been stalking her. Additionally, he claims that the police pressured her to marry the accused, which ultimately led to a nervous breakdown, resulting in her hospitalization at the LLR Hospital.
The girl's father works as a street vendor selling footwear. However, according to Additional DCP (South) Ankita Sharma, the man's allegations have not been substantiated in the initial investigation.
Sharma stated that a detailed inquiry into the case is underway, led by ACP (Ghatampur) Dinesh Shukla and herself. A case has been filed against the 22-year-old youth under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, including IPC sections 504, 506, and section 7/8 of the POCSO Act.
