Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has issued a public statement following his expulsion from the party for six years. In a message posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, he reaffirmed his loyalty and devotion to his parents, describing them as his “whole world” and emphasizing the importance of their trust and love.
Tej Pratap’s statement included a reference to unnamed party members whom he accused of betrayal. He compared these individuals to “Jaichand,” a historical figure symbolizing treachery, indicating internal conflicts within the party. He wrote, “Papa, if you were not there then this party would not have been there and neither would greedy people like Jaichand who do politics with me.”
The disciplinary action against Tej Pratap was taken on May 25, citing “irresponsible behaviour” and conduct that did not align with the party’s values. The decision followed the emergence of a controversial Facebook post from his account, which alleged a 12-year romantic relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav. This post caused significant embarrassment and speculation within the party.
Tej Pratap denied the authenticity of the post, claiming his Facebook account was hacked and that the images associated with the post were doctored using artificial intelligence. He stated this was an attempt to damage his and his family’s reputation. The denial came after the party’s leadership had already taken disciplinary measures against him.
The message from Tej Pratap is the first public statement addressing his parents since his expulsion from the RJD. He expressed a desire for his parents’ health and happiness and reiterated his dependence on their guidance and support. He emphasized that any order given by them was “greater than God” to him.
