Tension in Keshpur as TMC alleges lathi-charge by central forces at polling booth

Temporary tension gripped Keshpur following reports of unrest near Bajuara Primary School during polling, with the Trinamool Congress alleging that central forces used force against voters. TMC candidate Shiuli Saha rushed to the spot and claimed that a personnel of the central forces resorted to a baton charge on voters at the polling centre, leading to a heated exchange between her and the security personnel present there.

Central forces, however, denied the allegation and maintained that they were strictly enforcing election rules, particularly restrictions on gatherings within 100 meters of the polling booth. According to them, necessary steps were taken to prevent crowding near the centre. Shiuli Saha later alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party was attempting to create disturbances at multiple locations in Keshpur and said she would continue visiting such spots, while the situation remained under close watch.
