'There is no question of my not attending INDIA's meeting': Nitish Kumar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has put to rest speculations surrounding his participation in the INDIA alliance, asserting that he will actively take part in the next meeting. In a press statement in the state capital, Kumar also unequivocally opted out of the race for the Prime Minister's position.

Dispelling doubts about his absence from the recent INDIA meeting in New Delhi, Nitish Kumar addressed the media, stating, "I do not want anything. I had expressed my inability to attend INDIA's meeting scheduled in New Delhi on Wednesday as I was down with fever at that time." He emphasized that there was no question of him not attending future INDIA meetings and urged for quick finalization of decisions.

On the results of assembly elections held in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh recently, Nitish said that victory and defeat were part of the electoral politics, adding that Congress had also secured a good share of votes. He reiterated that he would continue to work in the interest of the state, adding all constituents of the grand alliance were united.

Nitish Kumar advocated for special category status (SCS) for Bihar, stating that it would accelerate the state's growth. He took a swipe at the Narendra Modi government, criticizing its failure to conduct a national-level caste census, arguing that it could have been beneficial for the country.
