PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
Siliguri police have arrested a man who was stealing from weddings and other events while posing as a guest. The accused, identified as Manoj Chaudhary, a painter by profession from Shivmandir area in Siliguri, attended social gatherings dressed in a suit and tie, blending in seamlessly with other guests. After partaking in the food and drinks at the events, he would discreetly steal valuables and flee the scene.
Chaudhary’s activities came to light after multiple thefts were reported from various wedding ceremonies in the region. The police, upon receiving complaints from the families, began an investigation and shared his photograph across local channels. This led to a breakthrough when a retired army officer identified him at a wedding on Sevek Road on Sunday night and informed the police.
Upon receiving the tip, officers from the Water Tank Police Station acted quickly and arrested Chaudhary. He was subsequently taken to court on Monday. Authorities are continuing to investigate his activities and potential involvement in other thefts in the region.
