Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Swimmer Bula Chaudhary’s ancestral house in Hindmotor, Kolkata, was burgled again, police said. The thieves entered by cutting the window grille and looted several items, though the full list of stolen property is yet to be confirmed. This comes after multiple previous incidents at the same house.
Bula Chaudhary, a Padma Shri awardee, said she discovered the break-in when she visited the house to collect a blanket. “The lock on the wardrobe was broken,” she said, questioning how the theft occurred despite a police guard stationed at the property at night.
The Uttarpara police are investigating the case. Bula currently resides in Kasba, Kolkata, with her family, leaving the ancestral home empty. Her brother, Milan Chaudhary, occasionally checks on the house, which is located on Debaipukur Road, Hindmotor, but lives at some distance.
