The third round of discussions between Union Ministers and farmer leaders in Chandigarh concluded without a resolution early Friday morning, with farmers maintaining their insistence on a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) and expressing vehement opposition to the use of force by the Haryana government.
Despite the prolonged deliberations lasting until 1:30 am, disagreements persisted, particularly regarding MSP and the recent incidents of forceful measures against protesters, prompting the announcement of another meeting scheduled for Sunday at 6 pm.
During the meeting, farmer organizations reiterated their demand for the opening of routes to Delhi and criticized the Haryana government's barricading efforts, highlighting the need for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing standoff. While discussions touched upon various issues, including the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, consensus remained elusive, particularly concerning MSP, despite Union Ministers outlining challenges in its implementation.
