Vandalism in Howrah over controversial painting during Durga Puja; 30 arrested
The stage is set for festive events to celebrate Bihar Diwas for three days from Wednesday. The events will include educational workshops, film screenings, cultural programs and visits to tourist sites.
Additional Principal Secretary (Education) Deepak Kumar Singh told on Monday, "Programs are being organized at various places to make the celebrations accessible to people from anywhere and to ensure that one place is not overcrowded."
He said that, unlike previous years, the celebrations would be held in different districts. 'Prabhat Pheri' will be organized in more than 70,000 government and private schools across the state.
Singers like Jawed Ali and Maithili Thakur will perform at Gandhi Maidan and Kathak dancer Prachi Pallawi Sahu and folk singer Nitu Kumari Nutan at S K Memorial Hall. Folk singers Anchala Kumari and Chandan Kumari will perform at Rahindra Bhawan. Children and adults who have received national-level awards or excelled in sports, technology and arts will be felicitated during the Bihar Diwas celebrations.
The health department will organize blood donation and cancer screening camps at Gandhi Maidan to create awareness and promote public health initiatives.
