Tiljala man arrested for raping his daughter's friend multiple times, threatened to kill

A shocking case of repeated sexual assault has emerged from East Kolkata's Tiljala area, where a man has been arrested for allegedly raping his daughter's long-time friend. According to law enforcement authorities, the accused man's family resides in Tiljala Lane, and his daughter shares a close, long-standing friendship with the complainant. Due to some ongoing domestic issues at her own residence, the young woman had temporarily moved into her friend’s house to stay for a few days, during which she became the target of the suspect.

Taking advantage of intermittent intervals when other family members left the house for daily chores or work commitments, the accused would stay back on various pretexts. Finding the victim alone in the empty house, he allegedly raped her multiple times and threatened to kill her if she disclosed the ordeal to anyone. Driven by profound fear and shame, the victim initially kept the trauma to herself, which allowed the perpetrator to continue the sexual harassment and exploitation over the subsequent days.

The continuous physical and emotional trauma eventually caused the young woman to fall severely ill and break down mentally. Unable to bear the distress, she finally confided in her family members and also informed her friend about her father’s actions. Although the daughter initially struggled to accept the severe allegations against her father, the victim approached the Tiljala Police Station and filed a formal criminal complaint. Based on her statement, the police initiated an immediate investigation, apprehended the accused, and confirmed that the legal probe is currently underway.
