In an email to the Chief Election Officer (CEO) of West Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Jay Prakash Majumdar voiced concerns over disturbances in the Madarihat and Haroa constituencies during polling. Majumdar highlighted specific issues in both areas, alleging that "BJP goons" in Madarihat were gathering near Binaguri and Birpara tea garden areas to intimidate voters, while Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) allegedly overlooked these actions. He requested urgent intervention from the Election Commission to ensure voter safety.
In Haroa, Majumdar reported disturbances by the Indian Secular Front (ISF) candidate, alleging that the candidate was accompanied by "unauthorized people" with mobile phones and was entering multiple booths recklessly, causing disruptions in the polling process. Majumdar expressed concern over CAPF's inaction and asked the Election Commission to take steps to restrain the ISF candidate for smoother polling.
In Madarihat, BJP leader Rahul Lohar was surrounded by protestors, and his car was reportedly vandalized. Following this, the election commission has sought a report on the violence.
