The Trinamool Congress has announced a major organizational restructuring, reconstituting both its National Working Committee and the West Bengal Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee. Chandrima Bhattacharya has been appointed as the new State President, while Abhishek Banerjee continues as National General Secretary. The party also appointed Derek O’Brien and Dola Sen as National Joint Secretaries to assist the National General Secretary.
Under the revised organizational structure, Subrata Bakshi will continue as Vice-President in the National Working Committee. Sajda Ahmed, Mamata Thakur, Nayana Bandyopadhyay and Swati Khandekar have been appointed Vice-Presidents of the West Bengal Pradesh Trinamool Congress. The party stated that the announced state committee is an initial list and that additional names may be added later.
The newly appointed State General Secretaries are Babar Ali, Pulak Roy, Ashima Patra, Aroop Biswas and Rajib Banerjee. The list of Executive Members includes Jyotipriyo Mullick, Dr Rana Chatterjee, Bidesh Bose, Trinankur Bhattacharjee, Jaya Dutta, Tapas Chatterjee, Vasundhara Goswamy and Goutam Deb.
The party has also retained Saayoni Ghosh as President of the Trinamool Youth Congress, while Madhurima Thakur has been appointed General Secretary of the youth wing. Mala Roy has been named President of the women’s wing, Priyanka Adhikary has been appointed President of the student wing, and Moloy Ghatak has been named President of the labour organization.
Madan Mitra has been appointed President of the Hawkers and GOI wing, Becharam Manna will head the farmers’ wing, and Purnendu Bose has been named President of the agricultural labour wing. Birbaha Hansda will lead the SC/ST wing. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Kalyan Banerjee, Madan Mitra and Kunal Ghosh have been named spokespersons, while Subhasish Chakraborty has been appointed Treasurer.
