NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
Tensions escalated in Behala West during the second phase of voting on Wednesday, particularly in Ward 127. Reports emerged alleging that central forces assaulted Trinamool Congress workers, leaving several injured. Despite the local party office being located approximately 100 meters away, accusations of vandalism by security personnel have created a volatile atmosphere in the constituency, disrupting the electoral environment.
Simultaneously, similar complaints surfaced in the Minakhan assembly constituency, specifically at booths 32 and 40 in the Shalipur area. Local Trinamool leader Abdul Khalek Mollah alleged that central forces acted in collusion with the BJP to carry out an orchestrated attack on party booths. These claims of vandalism and targeted intimidation have sparked widespread concern and heightened security fears across these polling zones.
These incidents reflect the mounting friction between political parties and security agencies on election day. As accusations of bias and overreach continue to circulate between the TMC and opposition camps, the electoral administration faces the challenge of maintaining order while addressing these serious claims of intimidation and physical violence against political workers.
