The Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha will start separate discussions on Thursday on President Droupadi Murmu's address which she delivered to both Houses of Parliament assembled together on January 31. The first part of the Budget session will take up the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address, and then on the Union Budget 2023-24 that was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday.
Opposition parties have been seeking to raise the Adani issue, Chinese transgressions at the border, and the role of Governors in states. The Opposition also criticized the Budget on Wednesday, accusing the Centre of doing little to address rising prices, widening economic disparities, and unemployment.
Meanwhile, Opposition parties - TMC, AAP, SP, Congress, DMK, and others meet to chalk out a strategy for the house. Several opposition leaders from various parties gave notices to discuss the Adani Group row as its shares collapsed following fraud claims by Hindenburg Research.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds a meeting with Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Anurag Thakur, Nirmala Sitharaman, Pralhad Joshi, Piyush Goyal, Nitin Gadkari, Kiren Rijiju to discuss government strategy in Parliament.
