TMC Councillor on the run for 11 days after Baguiati promoter assault

Trinamool Congress (TMC) Councillor Somas Chakraborty from Bidhannagar has been on the run for 11 days following his alleged involvement in an assault case in Baguiati. The case stems from a confrontation where a local promoter was attacked after failing to pay extortion money. According to the FIR, 20 individuals are named in connection with the assault, with charges including extortion, attempted murder, and assault. As of now, only two individuals have been arrested, while Chakraborty remains at large.

Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation Chairman Sabyasachi Dutta has made statements regarding the case, saying, “If you stain a lion’s mouth with blood, it will bite you,” which appears to reflect his view on the escalation of the situation.
