A series of controversies has been happening around the Jorasanko MLA Vivek Gupta for quite some time. Ever since the Saraswati Puja row, where it was alleged that a commission of 30% is being taken, MLA Gupta has been at the receiving end of many complaints.

Now, fresh allegations against Vivek Gupta have been raised by Trinamool councilor Mahesh Sharma. He accused the Jorasanko MLA of colluding with BJP councilors, stating that councilors from wards 22 and 23 won the elections due to an adjustment made by Vivek Gupta. However, BJP councilors Meena Devi Purohit and Vijay Ojha have hit back.
