TMC leader Rup Chand Mondal murdered in Amdanga bomb attack, 1 arrested

In a disturbing repetition of violence, another Trinamool leader, Rup Chand Mondal, fell victim to an attack, this time in Amdanga, following the recent Jayanagar incident. The ruling leader was killed in a scandal that involved a bomb attack on the Panchayat Pradhan in a crowded market. Despite attempts to escape by hiding under a car, Rup Chand succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack when taken to the hospital in critical condition. An accused named Anwar Hussain, identified in the FIR, has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The motive behind the attack on the Trinamool Panchayat chief remains a mystery, prompting a police investigation into potential connections to a land trade syndicate dispute. Allegations of corruption against Rup Chand Mondal before assuming the role of chief are being explored as a possible motive. The police are looking into the pre-planned nature of the incident, which unfolded as Rup Chand was leaving Kamdevpurhat. He was attacked from behind with bombs, resulting in a splinter on his left shoulder and died. 

The reason for this murder is still unclear to the police. However, an FIR has already been lodged against four people in this incident. Among them, one person has been arrested. whose name is Anwar Hossain. Toheb Hossain is in this FIR list. Rupchand Mandal's father filed a complaint against him. 

As per his complaint, Roopchand Mondal was threatened with death by Toheb Hossain several months ago. Apart from this, two other people named Aftab and Pappu are named in the FIR. Several people are being interrogated on suspicion related to the incident. It is being investigated whether this murder was due to personal enmity or political enmity. In a very short time, the assailants killed Rup Chand in a populated area and escaped. Two bombs were also found from there this morning.
