Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Saayoni Ghosh has issued a defamation notice to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Saumitra Khan for the BJP leader's derogatory remark against Ghosh. Saumitra Khan said that Saayoni is having an "illicit relationship with Kuntal Ghosh". Kuntal Ghosh is currently in ED custody for teacher recruitment.
“Sharing legal notice issued to Saumitra Khan for his defamatory statements made in public domain on 3rd Feb 2023, demanding a public apology failing which I will exercise my legal right in the criminal & civil court of law,” tweeted Saayoni Ghosh.
According to the notice, the BJP leader's remark on the news channel was also made on various online portals. This statement was incorrect and was made to "tarnish" the image of the TMC leader who was also surprised and shocked by Saumitra Khan's statement.
ED officials arrested Kuntal Ghosh on October 21. After that, Youth Trinamool leader Saayoni Ghosh said that the party is going to take'steps' against Kuntal 'very soon'.
