Panic ensued in Baharampur as Trinamool leader Satyen Chaudhary was fatally shot in a broad daylight incident. Satyen, once close to Adhir Chaudhary but later joined Trinamool, was sitting with followers near an under-construction building when three assailants on two bikes approached and fired three rounds on him.
Local residents rushed to help, transporting the injured Satyen to Murshidabad Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment. Satyen recently distanced himself from politics.
