Minister and MLA Udayan Guha, a member of Mamta Banerjee's cabinet, has made a shocking allegation regarding the recent murder of a TMC worker in Dinhata during the West Bengal Panchayat elections. Guha claims that the BJP is importing troublemakers from Bangladesh to create unrest in the area and directly targets Union Minister Nishith Pramanik.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in the Jaridalla Gitaldah No. 2 Gram Panchayat area of Dinhata, where a clash erupted between Trinamool and BJP supporters, resulting in gunfire. One person, Babu Haq, lost his life in the incident. Guha holds the entire incident responsible on the BJP, calling for a police investigation and suggesting that outsiders may be given shelter at the Union Minister's house.
Udayan Guha met with the Governor to discuss the situation, urging him to visit Dinhata and witness the ground reality. However, former BJP president Rahul Sinha denies the allegations and attributes the incident to internal factionalism within the Trinamool.
The region of Coochbehar has been a subject of concern due to smuggling and infiltration from Bangladesh. Mamta Banerjee had previously criticized the Border Security Force (BSF), accusing them of targeting Rajbanshi youths and stating that the police should take action against the BSF. The BJP, on the other hand, accuses the TMC of harboring Bangladeshi infiltrators and engaging in smuggling activities.
