Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a poll rally in Purulia, criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) over the Sandeshkhali issue, alleging that TMC members are questioning the character of women in the area. Modi stated, "...To protect 'their Shahjahan', the people of TMC are questioning the character of the sisters of Sandeshkhali." He emphasized that the language used by TMC against these women will be answered through votes by the daughters of Bengal.

Modi highlighted the impact of the Sandeshkhali incident on the women of Bengal, accusing TMC of dehumanizing women from SC and ST communities to protect Shahjahan Sheikh. He further criticized TMC for spreading misinformation against organizations like ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission, and Bharat Sevashram Sangha, claiming that Mamata Banerjee's threats to these institutions are aimed at appeasing her vote bank. Modi also asserted that TMC and Congress in West Bengal are "two sides of the same coin."
