Senior Trinamool Congress leader Madan Mitra addressed a party workers’ meeting at Nazrul Mancha, sharply criticizing some party workers and councillors for their perceived disloyalty. He stated, “If there were no Trinamool, you wouldn’t be able to stay in your homes—you’d have to return at the feet of Trinamool leaders.” Mitra claimed that 40% of people in the area obtained jobs through the support of Trinamool. He also criticized councillors who he said take advantage of the party, warning, “You think if you strip off your clothes and leave Trinamool, you'll survive? Even a street dog from the street would bite you!”
Madan Mitra further remarked on electoral ambitions, stating that anyone claiming they can win elections without a party ticket would be “rewarded.” His comments reflect ongoing tensions within the party as some members reportedly show dissatisfaction. The meeting highlighted internal challenges within the Trinamool Congress ahead of upcoming elections, with Mitra emphasizing loyalty and dependence on the party for political and personal benefits.
