The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has won all 23 seats in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) Cooperative Society elections. On Monday, a celebratory procession was held under the leadership of labour leader and state minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, with supporters marking the occasion using flowers and green abir.
Chattopadhyay stated that such a massive victory had occurred for the first time in the 121-year history of the cooperative and dedicated the win to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He is also the first elected MLA of the Trinamool Congress, having been elected in 1998.
