Traffic sergeant injured in Hit-and-Run incident near Park Circus

On Sunday night, a traffic sergeant with the Kolkata Police was the victim of a hit-and-run incident that left him with serious injuries. Prakash Ghosh, a traffic sergeant with the Vidyasagar Traffic Guard, was struck while riding home after duty around 11 p.m. near Park Circus. The incident took place in front of a shopping mall in the Kariya police station area.

The accident occurred when a speeding car hit Sergeant Ghosh’s motorcycle from behind, causing him to fall and sustain injuries to his left shoulder, back, knee, and leg. Following the accident, the driver fled the scene without stopping, leaving Ghosh in a critical state. The Kolkata Police have launched an investigation to locate the driver and vehicle responsible for the collision.

According to police sources, the vehicle involved has not yet been identified, but the investigation team is combing through CCTV footage to gather leads. Meanwhile, Sergeant Ghosh has filed an official complaint with the Kariya police station, initiating a formal inquiry into the incident.
