In a devastating accident on the Karjag-Kerakat road in Jaunpur district, Uttar Pradesh, six members of a family lost their lives as their car collided with a speeding truck during the early hours of Sunday. The family, hailing from Bihar's Sitamarhi district, was en route to Prayagraj when the tragic incident occurred around 2:30 am in the Gaura Badshahpur police station area. Among the deceased were four men and two women, while three others sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the BHU hospital in Jaunpur.
Identified as Gajdhar Sharma (60) and his son Anish Sharma (35), Jawahar Sharma (57), along with his 17-year-old son, Sonam (34) and Rinku (32), the victims' demise has plunged their families into mourning. The truck driver and conductor, responsible for the collision, are presently absconding, as confirmed by Jaunpur Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar. As investigations into the incident unfold, authorities are grappling with the aftermath of the tragic collision, while awaiting further details.
