A police personnel had rescued a woman unconscious from the first floor of a flat on North Purbachal Road in the Garfa police station area. After this woman was taken to a local hospital, where the doctors on duty declared her brought dead.
According to the preliminary investigation of the police, the woman lived with a young man on rent in that flat in Garfa. The woman's name is Mumtaz Bibi. Age 38 years. She is originally a resident of Champahati, South 24 Parganas.
The case unfolded when this morning the landlord did not get a response from Mumtaz despite many calls. He then entered the house with the duplicate key and found Mumtaz lying on the ground. The incident has created a sensation in the area.
The police have detained the woman's partner and are interrogating them. The body has been sent for post-mortem. The police officers of Garfa police station are investigating whether it was murder, suicide, or is there any other mystery behind it.
