In a heartbreaking incident, a first-year student of Jadavpur University, identified as Swapnadeep Kundu, lost his life after falling from the roof of the hostel. The incident occurred around 12:30 am on Wednesday night, startling other hostel residents with a loud thud. Upon rushing to the scene, they found Swapnadeep critically injured and covered in blood. He was immediately taken to a nearby medical college hospital where he was declared dead upon examination.
Swapnadeep Kundu hailed from Bagula in Nadia district and was pursuing studies at Jadavpur University. Aged only 18, he had recently joined the university's Bengali studies program. The tragic incident has left the university community in shock, prompting an investigation by Jadavpur police to determine the circumstances leading to the unfortunate incident. The details surrounding the fall remain unclear.
