Trailer Released for 'OMG 2': Akshay Kumar returns as Lord Shiva in much-awaited sequel

With just a week left before the release of the highly anticipated 'OMG 2,' directed by Amit Rai, the film's makers have unveiled the trailer, providing a glimpse into its intriguing theme. The sequel follows a new storyline, wherein Pankaj Tripathi portrays a devout man named Kantisaran Mudgal, who finds himself embroiled in a legal battle against his son's school.

In the first installment, released in 2012, Paresh Rawal played an atheist character who takes on God in court after his shop is destroyed in an earthquake. This time, the narrative takes a different turn, focusing on the challenges faced by a devoted father when his son is involved in a controversial incident captured on video. Kantisaran decides to stand by his son and confront the school legally.

The trailer commences with a scene featuring Lord Shiva instructing his trusted aide Nandi to descend to Earth and assist his devotee, Kantisaran Mudgal, as he faces a looming crisis. Akshay Kumar reprises his role as Lord Shiva, who once again conceals his divine identity while helping humans in their trials.

The film features Yami Gautam as a lawyer representing the school in the legal battle against Kantisaran. The trailer hints at an intense courtroom drama that will unfold as the two sides lock horns.

However, 'OMG 2' hasn't escaped its share of controversies. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) initially demanded more than 20 cuts and changes to Akshay Kumar's character as Lord Shiva. The filmmakers finally obtained an 'A' certificate from the CBFC, which permits adult audiences, but not without some audio edits.

The censor certificate was issued on July 31, a mere 11 days before the film's scheduled theatrical release on August 11. The film boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi, in pivotal roles.
