A fire scare occurred on the Kharagpur-Ranchi Fast Passenger train early in the morning when passengers noticed smoke emanating from the engine beneath compartment number four as the train halted at Bankura station. The incident, which took place around 6:50 am, caused initial panic among the passengers.
The railway authorities were immediately alerted, and railway police along with engineers rushed to the spot to investigate the source of the smoke. The train remained at Bankura station for an extended period while checks were conducted to ensure passenger safety.
This incident comes after a previous railway accident on July 31, where two containers of a freight train derailed near Phansidewa in Darjeeling, causing significant disruption.
