Fire broke out at the CESC office at Princep Street in Chandni Chowk area as a transformer explosion triggered intense flames around 7:10 AM. On a holiday when the streets are usually quiet, the sudden blaze caught everyone off guard with thick smoke. As per reports, the fire originated from the office transformer that required immediate response from the emergency services.
There are multiple plants here, one of them caught fire. Locals said they heard a series of explosions. Four fire engines were rushed to the spot and are working tirelessly for over two hours to bring the situation under control. The team faced challenges due to the intensity of the flames and potential electrical hazards, but their coordinated efforts prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings in the densely packed area. The area where the fire broke out is quite a busy one with many residential buildings around.
No injuries have been reported so far. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the transformer explosion. The fire brigade has been able to bring the situation under control to a large extent. However, it will still take some time to bring the situation under complete control.
