On the occasion of Jawaharlal Nehru's birth anniversary, leaders from the Indian National Congress paid heartfelt tributes to the country's first Prime Minister, underscoring his significant role in shaping the nation. Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge led the homage, emphasizing Nehru's enduring values. Rahul Gandhi expressed the need for the country to embrace Nehru's principles of freedom, progress, and justice. In a social media post, Gandhi stated, "Mother India today needs these values of her 'Jawahar of Hind' as an ideology in every heart."

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge highlighted Nehru's vision of a democratic structure that accommodates diverse cultural, political, and socio-economic trends, essential for India's unity.The tribute extended beyond the Congress party, as BJP MP Varun Gandhi acknowledged Nehru's contributions to the social and economic foundations of modern India. Varun Gandhi referred to Nehru as a "true national hero" who promoted an all-inclusive society through the confluence of democracy, socialism, and secularism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid his respects to Nehru on his birth anniversary, acknowledging the significance of the first Prime Minister in the country's history. Jawaharlal Nehru, born in Prayagraj in 1889, played a pivotal role in India's freedom struggle and is fondly remembered as 'Chacha Nehru.' After his passing, India decided to celebrate his birthday as 'Bal Diwas' or Children's Day, emphasizing Nehru's love and affection for children. Today, activities such as games and competitions are organized in schools nationwide to commemorate this occasion.
