Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Niranjan Jyoti, revealed that a scheduled meeting with the Trinamool Congress delegation in October last year did not materialize.

Jyoti claimed that she waited for two and a half hours at his New Delhi office for the delegation, emphasizing his willingness to collaborate for the benefit of West Bengal. However, she alleged that the Trinamool Congress had no intention of a meeting, using the opportunity for a sit-in protest instead.

Refuting allegations of withholding funds for state projects, Jyoti stated that all payments were timely, challenging Trinamool Congress to make CCTV footage of his office public for clarity. In response, Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Shantanu Sen dismissed Jyoti's claims, urging the release of CCTV footage to ascertain the truth.
