Trinamool leaders Dev, Shiuli & June attend CM Suvendu's meeting amid internal rebillion

In a highly significant political and administrative development, several prominent Trinamool Congress (TMC) lawmakers, currently aligned with their party's rebel faction, attended a high-profile administrative meeting chaired by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. The strategic session was convened on Tuesday morning at Balaka Mancha in Kolaghat, covering the comprehensive review of three crucial districts: Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, and Jhargram. In a major departure from past conventions, the newly installed administration extended formal invitations to all elected opposition public representatives across these regions.

The gathering grabbed immediate political attention as high-profile TMC figures registered their presence. Among the attendees were Keshpur TMC MLA Shiuli Saha, Medinipur TMC MP June Malia, and high-profile Ghatal MP Deepak Adhikari, popularly known as superstar Dev. Eyewitnesses noted that Dev arrived at the venue shortly after Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari took his seat to steer the proceedings. Their active participation comes amid heavy speculation surrounding a widening rift and growing internal rebellion within the primary opposition camp.

According to senior administrative officials, the comprehensive review focused heavily on optimizing public service delivery, unblocking pending infrastructure operations, and ensuring strict law and order coordination. The room was packed with the state’s functional core, including District Magistrates, Block Development Officers (BDOs), and departmental secretaries. Additionally, top-tier regional police brass, including Superintendents of Police, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), and station In-Charges, participated to align governance frameworks across the three districts.

The cross-party approach of the meeting drew praise even from opposition benches. Speaking directly after the session, Keshpur MLA Shiuli Saha lauded the initiative, noting that it felt genuinely encouraging to be included in a state administrative review. She pointed out that under the previous Trinamool regime, opposition MLAs were systematically excluded from such official government forums despite being elected by the citizens. Saha commended the current administration’s inclusive policy, stating that treating opposition lawmakers as critical stakeholders in regional development is a highly praiseworthy step forward.
