A truck collided with the convoy of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury near Jibanti in Murshidabad on Tuesday evening, leaving several security personnel and staff injured. The incident occurred at around 6:45 pm while the Congress leader was returning to Berhampore from Kandi after addressing an election campaign.
According to initial information, the truck hit one of the vehicles in the convoy, triggering chaos at the spot. Multiple members of the security detail and accompanying staff sustained injuries in the collision. The extent of injuries is yet to be fully assessed, but those affected were immediately attended to following the incident.
Sources indicated that attempts were made to contact the local Inspector of Police soon after the accident; however, there was reportedly no immediate response. The situation at the site remained tense for some time as arrangements were made to manage the aftermath and ensure assistance for the injured personnel.
