Former US President Donald Trump announced that he will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week during Modi's visit to the United States. PM Modi, along with the leaders of Australia and Japan, is scheduled to attend the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by US President Joe Biden.
The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that PM Modi’s three-day visit to the US will take place from September 21 to 23, with the Quad Summit on September 21. India has agreed to host the summit next year upon the US's request. Trump mentioned his upcoming meeting with Modi during an unrelated event in Flint, Michigan, marking the first time he referenced the meeting.
Trump has previously met with several foreign leaders, including Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Poland’s President Andrzej Duda, and British Foreign Secretary David Cameron. These meetings have been viewed as routine engagements that foreign leaders have with key political figures, including opposition leaders.
