Two Bangladeshis held near Raghunathganj border; Police seek motive behind illegal entry

Two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by Raghunathganj police from the Teghari area near the India-Bangladesh border on Tuesday night. The arrested individuals have been identified as Kayum Reza (24) and Jahir Rahman (35), residents of Shibganj in Chapainawabganj district of Bangladesh. Police detained them after spotting suspicious movement in the border region.

Both accused were produced before the Jangipur court on Wednesday. The police have sought a five-day remand to question them regarding their entry route, stay in India, and any possible assistance they may have received locally. According to officials, neither of them possessed valid documents to justify their presence in Indian territory.

The Raghunathganj police are conducting a detailed investigation into how they entered India, whether others were involved, and if there is any network operating in the area. Security has been tightened along the border, and further checks are being conducted in nearby villages and known crossing points.
