Two people lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Islampur on Wednesday morning after two motorcycles collided head-on in the Dakshin Kanchana area. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving both riders critically injured.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Anwarul and Mazhar Alam. Anwarul, a resident of Sahapur Gram Panchayat’s Dopkool area under Goalpokhar, was travelling with his two daughters to Islampur Hospital, where one of them was scheduled for dialysis. During the journey, his motorcycle collided with Mazhar Alam’s bike, who hailed from Dhantala and was approaching from the opposite direction.
Both riders were thrown onto the road due to the force of the crash. Local residents rushed them to the hospital, but doctors declared them dead upon arrival. The incident triggered scenes of grief at the hospital as family members arrived. Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
