Two minors tragically drowned in the Ganga River at the Rajganj Ganga Ghat in the Sankrail block of Howrah on the day of Vishwakarma Puja. The incident occurred when three youths had come to the Ganga Ghat for recreational bathing. Suddenly, all three fell into the river, and while one of them was rescued, the other two, identified as Priyanshu Singh (17) and Vineet Singh (14), drowned.
Upon receiving information, local residents immediately informed the Sankrail police station, prompting police officers to arrive at the scene. They also notified the River Traffic division of the Kolkata Police.
Divers have been deployed to search for the two missing youths in the Ganga, but the strong current posed challenges to the search efforts, leading to concerns that their bodies might have been carried away downstream. The police continue their search for the missing minors.
