Two people tested positive for COVID-19 in Bengal; Health officials monitor condition

A 31-year-old woman and a 12-year-old child from Magrahat II block in South 24 Parganas tested positive for COVID-19 after visiting Magrahat Rural Hospital with symptoms of fever, cold, and cough. Their samples were collected at the hospital’s outpatient department and sent to the laboratory at Diamond Harbour Medical College and Hospital, where the infection was confirmed.

Both patients are currently stable and recovering at home under medical supervision. Health officials from the Diamond Harbour Health District are monitoring their condition closely to track any changes in their health status. The patients have been advised to remain in home isolation as part of containment measures.

In response to these cases, health authorities collected samples from the patients’ immediate neighbours for testing. All neighbouring contacts tested negative for COVID-19. Surveillance and precautionary measures continue to be enforced by district health officials to prevent any further spread of the virus in the area.
