A shocking incident of robbery took a violent turn in Malda as miscreants shot two businessmen returning home with their business earnings. The incident unfolded late on Thursday night in the Matol Poultry Hatchery area of Gazole police station.
Two businessmen on a scooter were confronted by six assailants on two motorcycles, attempting to loot their money. The miscreants resorted to gunfire during the robbery, injuring one businessman severely, while the other sustained minor injuries. As the attackers fled with the stolen money, the injured businessman was rushed to a Malda nursing home for treatment. The incident caused a commotion, with locals rushing to the scene upon hearing the commotion, but the criminals managed to escape in the dark.
