Despite sustaining injuries, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee commenced her election campaign on Sunday, addressing a public gathering in Krishnanagar in support of Mahua Moitra.

Expressing concerns over rising unemployment under the Modi government, Banerjee questioned the fulfillment of the promised 2 crore jobs within five years, stating, "Where are those jobs?" She further criticized the BJP's candidate selection, alleging that the same family that supported the British against independence has been fielded by the BJP, contrary to popular beliefs.
