Union Health Minister urges states to collaborate amidst rising COVID-19 cases

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, in response to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases across the country, conducted a virtual review meeting on Wednesday to assess the preparedness of health facilities. Mandaviya assured states of full support from the Centre.

He stressed the need for increased surveillance, and effective communication with the public, and prioritized hospital preparedness through regular mock drills. The minister urged states to implement preventive measures in anticipation of the winter season and upcoming festivities, highlighting the significance of a collaborative "whole-of-government" approach over political considerations.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya addressed the escalating COVID-19 with health ministers and additional chief principal secretaries (Health) from all states and Union Territories. Mandaviya conveyed a message of unity, asserting that health concerns should transcend political divisions, and emphasized the availability of the Union Health Ministry for comprehensive support.
