The UP government has revealed an ambitious initiative to develop Bateshwar village, the birthplace of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, into a significant religious tourism center in Agra district.
CM Yogi Adityanath is set to lay the foundation stone for development projects exceeding ₹100 crore on December 25, coinciding with the late leader's birth anniversary. Bateshwar boasts 101 ancient and renowned temples, including the revered temple of Lord Shankar, making it a prominent pilgrimage site.
State Tourism and CM Jaiveer Singh announced that the chief minister would inaugurate the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cultural Complex Center building, unveil a statue of Vajpayee on the premises, and address a public meeting. Additionally, Adityanath will launch heliport services for Agra and Mathura.
The comprehensive plan aims to enhance the cultural and religious significance of Bateshwar, establishing it as a major tourist destination.
