UP man arrested for ₹3.24 lakh fake job fraud after New Town complaint

Police arrested Hemant Kumar, 29, from his residence in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on August 25 around 1:40 pm in connection with a fake job fraud case registered at New Town police station. The arrest followed a complaint lodged by Vinod Kumar, a resident of E-11/3, NBCC Vibgyor Tower.

According to the written complaint, Vinod Kumar was offered a job through a website. Believing the process to be genuine, he deposited a total of ₹3,24,600 into multiple bank accounts as fees for documents and certificates. Later, he discovered that the job offer was fraudulent and approached the police.

Based on the complaint, New Town police initiated an investigation and identified Hemant Kumar as a suspect. He was taken into custody from Ghaziabad and brought under interrogation to determine his role in the fraud. Police confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigation is underway.
