Trump asks Apple CEO not to manufacture in India, says 'they can take care of themselves'
Following India’s targeted military strikes under Operation Sindoor against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Uttar Pradesh has declared a Red Alert across the state. Director General of Police Prashant Kumar issued instructions to all field units to enhance vigilance and coordinate closely with the defence forces.
The alert was issued on May 7 after the Indian armed forces carried out early morning precision missile strikes on nine terror-linked sites, including key bases of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke. These actions came in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians and injured dozens.
The UP DGP stated that all sensitive and strategic installations across the state will now be under increased security cover. He assured citizens that the police force is fully prepared, equipped, and actively monitoring all developments. Emphasis has also been placed on intelligence coordination and rapid response measures.
In his statement, Prashant Kumar added that the UP Police is on high alert and working round the clock to ensure public safety. The alert comes amid heightened tensions at the border following the Indian military's assertive retaliation.
Meanwhile, reports indicate cross-border shelling has intensified, with six people reportedly killed and more than 30 injured in Pakistani attacks along the LoC. The Indian Army is said to be responding in equal measure.
