A high-profile delegation of the UK Police Technology Cooperation Trade Mission led by Assistant Commissioner for South Asia Anna Shotbolt landed in the state capital on Wednesday to share their experiences with the UP Police. UP DGP DS Chauhan welcomed the delegation here at the police headquarters, the delegates met senior police officers to further strengthen the India-UK Roadmap 2030.
In a tweet, UP Police said the "2030 Roadmap" provided a framework for UK-India relations in health, climate, trade, education, science, technology and defence. UP Police will be a key stakeholder for imbibing cutting-edge innovations and best practices from global partners to improve policing.
The delegation consisted of eight leading UK security companies in areas of policing modernization, including cyber security, forensics, crime investigation, transport and safe city management, secure communications, access management to prisons and secure facilities, narcotics and training.
In his opening remarks, the DGP stated that the UP Police lays emphasis on the creation of new institutional structures, technological modernization and improvement in the field of cybercrime, forensics, investigation, traffic management, communication and narcotics.
At the end of the event, he also presented a memento to Anna Shotbolt and wished that the joint meeting would develop newer synergies in the field of state-of-the-art technological infrastructure and training capacities. Robert Barnes, Police and Security Advisor, UK Defense Security Exports, delivered closing remarks and thanked delegates and police officers for a fruitful meeting.
