Municipalities & panchayat heads won't issue birth and death certificates anymore: Bengal Govt
Tensions flared once again inside the West Bengal Legislative Assembly as Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Kunal Ghosh approached the Speaker's table to demand an immediate discussion regarding Wednesday's proceedings. The action caused significant commotion in the House, disrupting scheduled legislative business as members gathered around the well.
Disapproving of the interruption, the Assembly Speaker declined to initiate the requested discussion and instructed Ghosh to immediately return to his designated seat. The directive prompted a heated exchange of words between the MLA and the Chair, escalating the confrontation inside the chamber.
The exchange added to the ongoing unrest within the Assembly following previous disruptions involving legislative speaker lists and member suspensions. Proceedings were briefly stalled as the Speaker sought to restore decorum and resume routine House activities.
