US-Israel attack Natanz nuclear site; Iran claims no radiation leak

Iran’s key nuclear facility at Natanz was targeted in a fresh strike reportedly carried out by the United States and Israel, marking a major escalation in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Iranian media and officials confirmed that the uranium-enrichment site was attacked on Saturday morning.

According to Iranian authorities, the attack struck the Natanz enrichment facility located in central Iran, which plays a crucial role in the country’s nuclear programme. Officials stated that despite the assault, there were no reports of radioactive leakage or immediate danger to residents living near the facility.

The Natanz complex is considered Iran’s primary uranium enrichment site and houses thousands of centrifuges used to enrich uranium. The facility has previously been targeted during earlier phases of the Iran-Israel conflict and has suffered repeated damage over the past year. Iran condemned the attack and vowed to rebuild the damaged facility, insisting that its nuclear programme is meant for peaceful purposes. The latest strike highlights the deepening confrontation over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and adds to rising geopolitical tensions across the region.
