Uttarkashi woman thrashes man with slipper for allegedly misbehaving with her daughter

A viral video from Uttarkashi’s Matli Bandarkot area shows a woman repeatedly beating a young man with her slippers for allegedly misbehaving with her daughter. The incident, which surfaced online recently, drew sharp public reactions and renewed discussions on public retribution for alleged harassment.

According to reports, the man, said to be an employee at a local tyre puncture shop, misbehaved with the woman’s daughter. In the video, bystanders can be seen watching as the enraged mother strikes the accused multiple times. Following the incident, the man reportedly fled the area and has been missing since.

Local activist Sachendra Parmar confirmed that the man has been absconding and demanded swift police action. Parmar also noted that several such incidents have gone viral from Uttarkashi in recent months, including cases linked to alleged “love jihad” and indecent video circulation.

A similar case was reported last year in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman publicly thrashed a man accused of circulating obscene doctored images of her daughter. The panchayat had allowed the mother to punish him herself, reflecting growing community frustration with repeated acts of harassment against women.
