Veteran CPM leader Madan Ghosh has passed away. He breathed his last at his home at 7:10 am on Friday. He was 81 years old. He was suffering from physical problems for a long time.
The party has expressed deep condolences on his death. He served as party secretary in the undivided Burdwan district for a long time. He was a former MLA of the party, former CPI(M) president of Burdwan district and a member of the Central Committee of the CPM.
Condoling his death, senior party leader Rabin Dev said, "Late Madan Ghosh is one of those people who came to power in the state through hard work and dedication, winning the trust of the people." His demise is an irreparable loss to leftist politics.
According to party sources, the body of the late leader is being brought from Burdwan to Kolkata and party state secretaries Mohammad Salim, Rabin Deb and other leaders will be present from Kolkata to pay their last respects.
